The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wilson falls off balance throwing a combination
and Kikui counters by clinching up.
Wilson lands a body shot in the clinch.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Wilson.
A shot in the inside from Wilson.
Wilson breaks from the clinch.
Wilson thumps Kikui with a low kick.
Kikui connects with a looping right hand.
Kikui takes a kick to the side of the head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kikui with a lazy takedown attempt
enabling Wilson to counter with a crisp jab.
Kikui shoots in looking for a takedown. Wilson tries to sprawl out of it but Kikui keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Wilson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
A nice leg kick lands there from Wilson.
Wilson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Wilson digs a good hook to Kikui's body.
Wilson scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Kikui takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Sloppy strikes from Wilson. Those never looked like landing.
Kikui shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Kikui was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Kikui is breathing heavily.
Wilson tries to lock up and control but Kikui gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Wilson sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Kikui is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Wilson sees it coming and defends easily.
Wilson is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Kikui's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Kikui's back!
Wilson lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Kikui hold on?!
Wilson is working for a rear naked choke. Kikui is not defending it well and Wilson has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Kikui refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Kikui's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Dave Wilson!
