The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Filmer moves into range and clinches up with Pinkney.
Pinkney jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Filmer walks away with a smile on his face. Pinkney gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Pinkney doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Filmer counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Filmer is controlling the pace.
Pinkney looks gassed!

Filmer stands up and beckons Pinkney to join him on the feet.
Pinkney fails with the takedown

and Filmer counters with a crisp one two that drops Pinkney! Filmer thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Pinkney to his feet! Pinkney is in big trouble!
Andrew Filmer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Michael Pinkney.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Filmer connects with a leg kick. Pinkney looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Pinkney gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

so Filmer counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pinkney can do anything to dispel that myth.
Filmer content to stall in guard here.
Filmer will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Filmer stands up from Pinkney's guard - Filmer perhaps looking for a knockout.
Filmer throws a nasty head kick that just misses. He throws another kick to the head of his opponent and almost takes it off! Pinkney crumples to the floor and the fight is over!
