The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ortiz shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Still in half guard, Ortiz seems content to control.

Ortiz is looking for a kimura but Jobber vX is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Ortiz to get the leverage.

Ortiz stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Jobber vX to get to his feet.

Ortiz decides to stand back up. Ortiz steps back and let's Jobber vX get back to his feet.

and Ortiz decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Jobber vX's guard.
Ortiz controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Ortiz sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Jobber vX's guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Ortiz seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Tito Ortiz has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Ortiz shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Jobber vX napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Ortiz has hold of one of Jobber vX's legs. Jobber vX is fighting the takedown attempt but Ortiz gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Ortiz is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Ortiz stands and steps away. Jobber vX gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Ortiz is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Jobber vX is trying to escape and Ortiz transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Jobber vX is forced to tap! Nice work there by Ortiz! Very nice indeed!
