Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Uncle Sam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Master Bates (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Master Bates is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sam looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Bates throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Bates misses with a series of wild punches.
Uncle Sam seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sam throws a body kick that misses.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Sam - that will leave a mark!
Sam misses with a series of wild punches.
Sam moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Sam looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Bates is fending him off so far but Sam persists. Nope, Bates circles away and we're back to standing.
Sam misses with a head kick.
Sam throws a series of strikes that have Bates backpedaling.

Sam connects with a crisp jab.
A choreographed right hand from Sam misses the target.
Bates blocks a head kick by Sam.
Sam scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Sam misses with a straight right.
Sam lands a slapping body shot.
Bates has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Sam finds it's way round the side to connect with Bates's head.
A combination from Bates does no damage.
Bates looks gassed!
Sam looks to land a combination but Bates avoids it well.
Bates tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Sam fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Sam connects with the punch.

Sam throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Bates stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sam throws a right and a left that both miss.
Some wild striking there from Sam.
An inside leg kick lands from Sam.
Sam ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Bates lands a body shot.
Sam swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Bates counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Sam fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Bates checks it well.
Bates swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Sam counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Donk. Bates catches Sam right on the button with a cross.

Bates lands with a straight right. Sam didn't see that one coming.

Sam is rocked!
Sam moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Oh Sam is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
A combination from Bates does no damage.
Bates tries to clinch there but Sam circles away.
Sam seems to have got his legs back now.
Sam fails to land the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Uncle Sam. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Some wild striking there from Bates.
Bates tries to clinch but Sam moves out of range.
Bates throws a body punch but Sam moves out of range.
Nice shot lands for Bates.
A jab lands there for Bates.

Bates misses with a few strikes there.
Bates lands a two punch combo.

Bates instigates a clinch.

Bates manages to break the clinch.
A punch combination from Bates misses.

Bates decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sam moves into full guard.
Bates wants to control from the top but Sam keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Sam tries to land a leg kick but Bates saw it coming and moves away.
Sam falls off balance throwing a combination
and Bates connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Nice takedown defense from Sam. No joy for Bates on that attempt.
A head kick misses from Sam.
Sam cracks Bates with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Sam misses with a shot to the body
and Bates counters with a one-two to the body.
Bates takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Bates is breathing heavily.

Sam throws a left that rocks Bates and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Sam dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Bates regain composure!

Bates is rocked!
A big shot lands for Sam! That's hurt Bates! Will he recover? Sam fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!
