Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Bernados (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Punchy McPuncherton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bernados throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around McPuncherton's waist but McPuncherton gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bernados off to one side.

McPuncherton dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
McPuncherton leaves Bernados with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Bernados fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but McPuncherton avoids it really well and circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ivan Bernados. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

McPuncherton really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bernados. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Bernados drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Bernados jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Bernados is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
McPuncherton wants to get back to his feet but Bernados is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
McPuncherton is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bernados accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

McPuncherton is looking to stand up but Bernados isn't so interested in that idea.
Bernados advances to half guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
McPuncherton wants to control but Bernados is keeping busy.

Bernados is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and McPuncherton defends it well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bernados wants to get up but he can't break McPuncherton's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Bernados takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
McPuncherton connects with the punch.
Bernados fails with the takedown.
Bernados shoots for a double leg takedown but McPuncherton sprawls well. He's pushed Bernados's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
McPuncherton connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Bernados needs to keep his hands up - McPuncherton had a free shot at his head there.
Ivan Bernados seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bernados takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
McPuncherton clobbers Bernados with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
