Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between John Bowmen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vitor Roque (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Roque has chosen Parangolé - Balacobaco as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bowmen shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Roque is trying to defend but Bowmen finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Bowmen wants to stand but Roque is controlling his posture from full guard.

Roque fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bowmen manages to avoid it.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Bowmen counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Bowmen shoots in for a double leg but Roque sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Roque misses with a series of wild punches.
Bowmen does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
The fight stays on the outside here - Bowmen looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Roque shoots in but no luck this time.
Roque swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

so Bowmen counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

John Bowmen is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Roque clobbers Bowmen with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
