Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Murdock Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Franco Di Santo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Franco Di Santo struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 266.0lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jr throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Jr connects with a good right hand that stumbles Di Santo. Di Santo circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

It looks like Franco Di Santo has been cut.
Di Santo steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Jr.
Murdock Jr seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jr throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Di Santo sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Di Santo bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Di Santo takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Di Santo takes a jab right on the kisser.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Di Santo stuffs the takedown attempt from Jr. Jr gets slowly back to his feet.
Jr misses with a straight left.

Di Santo gets caught flat footed, as Jr shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Jr in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Di Santo is looking to stand up but Jr isn't so interested in that idea.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Di Santo can do anything to dispel that myth.

Jr thows a big elbow that misses.
Jr lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Di Santo preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Jr has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Jr stands up over Di Santo, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Di Santo is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Jr is controlling him.

Jr is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Jr lands a couple of elbows.

That has opened up Franco Di Santo's cut even more.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Jr is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Jr keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Di Santo's head.

Franco Di Santo's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
