The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dos Santos stuffs the takedown attempt from Cooper. Cooper gets slowly back to his feet.
Dos Santos falls off balance throwing a combination

and Cooper counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Dos Santos wants to get back to his feet.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Dos Santos rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Cooper moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Dos Santos misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Dos Santos throws a low kick but Cooper moves out of range easily.
Dos Santos swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Dos Santos dips to his left and cracks Cooper with an uppercut!

It looks like Cash Cooper has been cut.
Dos Santos throws a right and a left that Cooper avoids nicely.
Dos Santos stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Dos Santos wants it to stay on the feet.
Dos Santos swings for the body but Cooper moves out of range.
Dos Santos looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

You get the feeling that Dos Santos really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Cooper is stalling here but it's allowed Dos Santos to get half guard.
Dos Santos is trying to stand up here but Cooper is controlling him well.
Cooper should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Cash Cooper hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Cooper uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Dos Santos.
Dos Santos feints with a jab and clips Cooper right behind the ear with a massive overhand right! Cooper is sent crashing into the canvas and Dos Santos leaps in for the kill! Cooper tries to get to his feet but Dos Santos is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that Cooper is in need of a savior and steps in!
