Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joh Jah (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rick Vaughn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vaughn comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Wild Thing kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Joh Jah!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rick Vaughn!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Trevor Gratis and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Jah does no damage.
Vaughn scores with a jab. Jah acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Jah blocks a jab.
Jah throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Jah doesn't manage to clinch there - Vaughn circles away.
Jah ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Vaughn moves away.
Jah keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Vaughn.
Jah is looking to clinch.
Vaughn throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Jah sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Jab, jab by Vaughn - just one landing.
Jah with a hook.
Jah sizes up Vaughn with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Vaughn stuffs the takedown attempt from Jah. Jah gets slowly back to his feet.
Jah fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Jah misses with a series of wild punches.

Jah gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Jah lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Vaughn backwards.
Still in the clinch, Vaughn scores with a nice short uppercut.
A short body shot lands from Vaughn as the two fighters clinch.

Vaughn breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Vaughn throws a hook but Jah avoids it easily.
Nice uppercut lands for Vaughn. That snapped Jah's head back.
Jah's jab looks to have found its range, popping Vaughn under the eye.
Vaughn swings for the body but Jah moves out of range.

Jah closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Vaughn did well to prevent Jah getting side control.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Vaughn wants to get back to full guard.
Jah tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

Vaughn is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Vaughn avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Jah.

Jah looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Vaughn wants to control but Jah is keeping busy.

Jah landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Vaughn is trying to control but can't.
Jah has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Jah throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Vaughn avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Jah.
Vaughn has hold of Jah's hands but Jah slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Jah gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

Jah takes a swing at Vaughn's ribcage but misses.
Jah tries to bum rush Vaughn with a series of wild strikes but Vaughn uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Joh Jah seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Vaughn clinches up with Jah and pushes him back against the cage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Jah has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Vaughn regains guard immediately.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jah accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Jah postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Vaughn is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Jah, into his guard.
Vaughn must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Vaughn controls from within his opponent's guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Jah wants to stand up but Vaughn is controlling him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Joh Jah dominated that round.

Jah misses with the combination.
Jah fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Vaughn circles away from the clinch attempt.
Vaughn throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Jah on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Jah misses with an uppercut. Vaughn saw that one coming.
Vaughn throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Vaughn might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Jah has managed to clinch.

Jah escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Jah throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Rick Vaughn seems to be getting the better of the standup.
A telegraphed right hand from Vaughn misses the target.
Vaughn walks into a left hand.

Vaughn has taken the fight to the clinch.
Jah lands with a left to the head.

Jah has hold of one of Vaughn's legs. Vaughn is fighting the takedown attempt but Jah gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Joh Jah overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Jah working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Vaughn is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Jah wants to get back to his feet.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Vaughn ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Jah moves away.

Jah darts in and clinches Vaughn up against the cage.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Jah creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.


It looks like Rick Vaughn has been cut.

Jah throws a right hand that Vaughn ducks under and follows up with a left that Vaughn also avoids with ease.

Jah has Vaughn pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Vaughn manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Vaughn's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Jah shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Jah connects with a single shot there.
Jah gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Jah takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Jah has closed the distance and engaged Vaughn in a clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jah throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Vaughns head.

Vaughn tries to close the distance and clinch up but Jah swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Rick Vaughn comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Vaughn has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
