PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dan Kudo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lucas Bede (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kudo's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, the game by Motorhead. Lucas Bede is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dan Kudo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lucas Bede!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Cecil Peabody and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kudo takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

and Bede counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Bede swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Kudo.

Kudo shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Bede's guard.
Kudo wants to control from the top but Bede keeps moving.

Bede is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Kudo can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Kudo tries to lock up and control but Bede gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Kudo tries to buck Bede off but he can't manage it.

Bede thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Kudo is staying active underneath Bede, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Bede decides to stand back up. Bede steps back and let's Kudo get back to his feet.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Lucas Bede is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

and Bede counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Kudo thinking.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

and Bede counters with a three punch combo that has Kudo backing up. Kudo nods at Bede to acknowledge the strikes.

Dan Kudo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Nice uppercut lands for Bede. That snapped Kudo's head back.

Oh Kudo is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Bede fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Kudo, pushing him back against the cage.

It looks like Dan Kudo has been cut.
Bede lands a nice knee to the body.
Bede makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Bede working the clinch nicely. Kudo is working for position but Bede cracks him with a big knee to the head! Kudo crumples up against the cage and Bede lands two more shots before the ref can save Kudo! This one is all over!
