Cruz doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Cannon counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Cannon is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Cruz wants to control but Cannon is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Cruz pushes Cannon off but Cannon dives into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cruz takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Cannon slows the pace down.

Cannon cracks Cruz with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Cannon immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Cruz is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Cannon!
