PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kenrick Nikil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and King Kong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kenrick Nikil!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, King Kong!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Franklyn Lucas and Alyssa Summers.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nikil closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Nikil scores with an uppercut up the middle.

Nikil escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Kong shoots in looking for a takedown but Nikil manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Kong's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Kong drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Nikil is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Kong is in trouble now - Nikil has advanced to mount!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kong can do anything to dispel that myth.
Nikil tries to control but Kong wriggling away.
Nikil with shots to the head and body - Kong looks very uncomfortable down there.

Nikil looking to control but Kong is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Nikil landing strikes from the mount and Kong is in trouble!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Nikil misses with a head shot.
Nikil landing punches.
Nikil trying to control but Kong is having none of it.
Nikil lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Nikil fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Nikil is landing with some decent strikes but Kong is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Nikil misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Nikil pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Oooooh, big shot lands for Nikil! Kong is hurt baaadly! Nikil is firing away with more strikes - Kong is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
