The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Hartman.
Hartman throws a right and a left that Shankara avoids nicely.
Shankara misses the shot to the body.
Shankara throws a big shot that misses.
Hartman falls off balance throwing a combination
and Shankara counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Hartman swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Shankara throws a body punch but Hartman moves out of range.
Shankara misses the jab.

Hartman throws a combination. Shankara tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Shankara cracks the inside of Hartman's front leg.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hartman shoots in for a takedown but Shankara shows good takedown defense.

Shankara jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Shankara feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Hartman's calf.
Shankara dodges the punch combination from Hartman.
Hartman on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Hartman is breathing heavily.

Hartman gets tackled into the cage by Shankara. Shankara maintains the clinch.
Hartman looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Hartman tries to break the clinch but Shankara is controlling the position.
Still in the clinch, Shankara scores with a nice short uppercut.
Shankara keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Hartman's efforts to push away.

A frustrated look appears on Hartman's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Shankara tries a body shot but Hartman blocks it.
Hartman manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Hartman tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Shankara's elbow.
Hartman takes a shot to the head.
Shankara scores with a nice hook to the head.
Shankara pushes off an throws an elbow but Hartman leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hartman is trying to break the clinch but Shankara has him pressed against the cage.
Hartman tries to circle away but Shankara has him pinned against the cage.
Shankara lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Shankara blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Shankara pushes Hartman back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Hartman wants to break free but Shankara has control.
Shankara misses with some punches.
Hartman takes a shot to the head.

Shankara's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
An inside leg kick lands from Shankara.

It looks like Naja Shankara has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Shankara slaps away a takedown attempt from Hartman, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Hartman gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Shankara.
Hartman avoids a punch combination nicely.
Sloppy strikes from Shankara. Those never looked like landing.

Shankara lands a big right hand that sends Hartman crashing to the mat! Shankara stays standing though and waves Hartman back to his feet!

Hartman is rocked!

Shankara gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Oh Hartman is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Shankara breaks the clinch.
Hartman seems to have got his legs back now.
Hartman avoids the head kick by Shankara.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Naja Shankara dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Naja Shankara's cut.
That's time! Hartman's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Hartman throws a body punch but Shankara moves out of range.
Some wild striking there from Hartman.
Hartman avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Shankara lands a big right hand that sends Hartman crashing to the mat! Shankara stays standing though and waves Hartman back to his feet!

Shankara swings for the body but Hartman moves out of range.
Hartman throws a nice looking combination but Shankara bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
The fighters circle, before Shankara throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Hartman's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Shankara lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!
