PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tj Hooke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aku Zoku (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hooke is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Aku Zoku!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Ren Mimura and Yukihiro Shimada.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Hooke does no damage.
Hooke is breathing heavily.

Hooke gets caught flat footed, as Zoku shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Zoku passes Hooke's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Hooke has hold of Zoku's hands but Zoku slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Hooke is looking to get back to is feet but Zoku passes into side control.
Zoku just content to control the position.
Zoku has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Zoku in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Zoku landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Zoku prevents Hooke from escaping the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Zoku is working to tighten is grip on Hooke's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Hooke has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Zoku is really squeezing tight and eventually Hooke passes out! Zoku breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
