Vanaja gets a double leg takedown into Velasquez's guard.
Vanaja slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Vanaja makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Vanaja drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Velasquez manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Vanaja has Velasquez in his guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Vanaja looking for a guillotine here but Velasquez defends easily.
Vanaja is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Velasquez is aware though and is defending well.
Velasquez will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Oooooh, big shot lands for Vanaja! Velasquez is hurt baaadly! Vanaja is firing away with more strikes - Velasquez is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
