Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jon Jonas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnson comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Aint no sunshine kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Johnson shoots in looking for a takedown. Jonas tries to sprawl out of it but Johnson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Jonas manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Johnson uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Jonas.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Jonas stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Jonas wants it to stay on the feet.
Jonas shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Johnson eats them both and turns towards Jonas to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

and Johnson counters with a nice double leg into side control. Jonas won't be happy with that.

Johnson is trying to get an arm triangle but Jonas is defending well.
Jonas wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Johnson wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Jonas, who protects the arm well.

Johnson's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

James Johnson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Johnson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Jonas sprawls well. Jonas wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Johnson gets slowly back to his feet.

Jonas is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Johnson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Jonas swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

And that's the end of the fight!
James Johnson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Johnson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
