Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Heller Reese (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Omori (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Heller Reese!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Paul Omori!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Omori moves into the clinch successfully.
Omori is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Reese is defending well for now.
Omori is trying to break the clinch but Reese has him pressed against the cage.
Reese lands a knee to the body.
Omori unloads a knee to the mid-section. Reese lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Reese escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Left hook, right uppercut from Omori.
A punch combination from Reese misses.
Reese throws a series of strikes that have Omori backpedaling.

Omori shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Reese's guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Omori drops back, looking for a kneebar! Reese looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Reese looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Reese!

Reese tries for a kimura but Omori is defending well.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Omori is trying to improve his position.
Reese has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Omori!
Omori working to try and regain half guard.
Omori is squirming around, avoiding Reese's attempts to control the action.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Reese get's back to his feet.
Omori dives in and grabs Reese's left leg, looking for a takedown. Reese pushes down on Omori's head and hops out.
Omori tries to clinch but Reese is having none of it.
Reese pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Reese misses with an attempted mid kick.
Reese throws a sloppy head kick and Omori moves out of range easily.
Omori shoots in looking for a takedown. Reese tries to sprawl out of it but Omori keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Reese manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Omori throws a half hearted mid kick.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A lazy left from Reese finds it's target.
Reese looks to score with a jab to the body but Omori is just out of range.

Omori moves into the clinch successfully.
Omori wants to get back to striking at distance but Reese won't allow it.
Reese has Omori pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Omori manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Reese successfully pulls guard.

Reese has his foot on Omori's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Omori works his way back into a safe position though.
Reese not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Omori tries to free his leg and advance position but Reese is retaining full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Omori with a flurry of punches that miss.

Reese looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Reese might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Reese being controlled here, momentarily.
Omori passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Omori throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Heller Reese will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Reese tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Reese throws a head kick but Omori moves out of range.

Omori scores with a takedown into Reese's guard.
Omori trying to control the position from guard on top but Reese is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Reese wants to sweep here but Omori controlling him for the moment.
Omori thows a big elbow that misses.

Omori drops back looking for a leg! Reese is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Reese manages to kick Omori off! Omori jumps back into Reese's guard.

Reese has his feet on Omori's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Reese lands a head kick!
Omori tries to close the distance and clinch but Reese swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Reese swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Omori shoots in looking for a takedown but Reese manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Omori's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Omori looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Reese is fending him off so far but Omori persists. Nope, Reese circles away and we're back to standing.
Reese takes a swing at Omori's ribcage but misses.
Reese throws a head kick that misses.
Nice sprawl there from Reese as Omori shoots in.
Heller Reese has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paul Omori.
Omori is breathing heavily.
Omori is looking to clinch.
Omori tries to clinch but Reese moves out of range.
Omori blocks a head kick by Reese.
Omori fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Omori moves out of range of the body kick.
Reese looks to land a body kick but Omori moved away.

Reese throws a sloppy head kick and Omori moves out of range easily.

Omori gets a takedown into half guard.
Reese keeping control of the position.
Omori is pressing down on Reese's thigh, looking to free his foot. Reese is holding on for now.
Paul Omori has got the better of the ground game so far.

Reese tries to get to full guard but Omori has control of the leg.
Omori frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Reese is trying to stand.
Reese is looking to get to half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Omori avoids the attempt from Reese to control.
Reese is looking to improve his position but Omori isn't that keen on the idea.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Paul Omori will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Omori fails to land the takedown.
A head kick misses from Reese.
Omori shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Reese but Reese pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Omori tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Reese manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Heller Reese is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Omori closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Omori lands in his opponent's guard.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Reese holds on and takes a little breather.
Reese's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Heller Reese wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Omori shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Reese is wriggling around trying to escape.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Omori takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Omori misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Reese is controlling an arm, preventing Omori from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

Omori is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Reese has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Reese!
Omori takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Reese is working Omori over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Omori keeping moving, preventing Reese from controlling successfully.

Reese got a little sloppy there for a moment and Omori has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Reese has managed to get both his arms back between Omori's legs - danger averted.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Omori keeping moving, preventing Reese from controlling successfully.
Reese engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Reese trying to control but Omori is working from the bottom.

Heller Reese has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Omori showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Reese.
Omori tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Reese makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Reese pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Sloppy strikes from Reese. Those never looked like landing.
Reese digs a good body shot into Omori's ribs.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Reese wants to slow Omori down by chopping away at his legs.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Heller Reese.
I think Reese has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
