PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between The Tick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jerry Seinfeld (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Tick might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to The Tick theme song. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Bruno Lombardi and Reed Andrews.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Seinfeld on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Seinfeld clinches up with Tick and pushes him back against the cage.
Tick comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

It looks like Jerry Seinfeld has been cut.
Tick is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Seinfeld lands a damaging elbow.
Tick is looking to control Seinfeld's arms but Seinfeld gets an underhook and turns him. Now Tick has his back to the cage.
Seinfeld wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Tick breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Tick, right into the meat.
Tick lands a nice leg kick that just misses Seinfeld's sensitive parts.
Seinfeld closes the distance looking to clinch
and Tick counters with an inside leg kick.
The Tick seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Seinfeld takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Seinfeld chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Tick can pounce on him.
Seinfeld fails in his attempt to clinch.
That kick from Tick tenderised Seinfeld's leg. Seinfeld is trying to keep his angry face on.

Tick lands a front kick.
Seinfeld looks gassed!
Tick pushes Seinfeld away with a front kick.
Tick throws a nice inside leg kick.
Tick lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Tick fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Seinfeld has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Seinfeld takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Tick throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Tick cracks Seinfeld with a right hand to the side of the head.
Seinfeld takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Tick looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Tick throws a head kick that Seinfeld semi-blocks.
That kick from Tick tenderised Seinfeld's leg. Seinfeld is trying to keep his angry face on.

Tick throws a leg kick which misses Seinfeld's front leg but catches the back leg as Seinfeld tries to avoid it.
A nice leg kick lands there from Tick.
Seinfeld has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Tick.

Tick goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

Tick misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Seinfeld is rocked!
Tick throws a quick inside leg kick.
Seinfeld's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Seinfeld sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Seinfeld tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Tick manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Tick thumps Seinfeld with a low kick.
Tick goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Seinfeld is still on wobbly legs! Can Tick finish him?

Tick tests Seinfeld's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Tick.
Tick is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Tick keeps Seinfeld at a distance using the push kick.
Seinfeld on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Tick. Tick obviously looking to wear him down.
Seinfeld seems to have recovered his senses.
Tick turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Tick lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Tick cracks Seinfeld with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Tick lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Tick throws a front kick that sends Seinfeld stumbling back into the cage.
Tick stalks Seinfeld and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Seinfeld's face. Seinfeld staggers backwards, shaken.
Whack! Tick lands a heavy head kick that drops Seinfeld. The ref tackles Tick to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Seinfeld was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). The Tick!
