Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Cristiano Fereira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Edward Waker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cristiano Fereira looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Cristiano Fereira!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Edward Waker!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Waker bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Fereira looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Fereira trying to remain calm as Waker controls from the top position.
It looks like Waker might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Edward Waker wasn't active enough on the ground.

Let's hope that Waker has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Fereira's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Waker tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Waker shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Waker takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Fereira is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Edward Waker was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Waker closes the distance and clinches.
Waker will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Fereira up against the cage.
Waker is trying to break the clinch but Fereira has him pressed against the cage.
Fereira goes for a takedown in the clinch but Waker prevents it.

Waker misses with a hook to the ribs.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Edward Waker showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Waker lands a jab-cross combination.
Fereira displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Waker.
Waker thows a body shot but no joy.

Waker feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Fereira takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Waker cracks Fereira with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Fereira wants to get back to his feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Edward Waker comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Waker has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
