The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carter rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but john moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
john slips a jab and a cross from Carter.
Carter has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by john.
Carter throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Carter throws a right and a left that both miss.
Carter on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
john avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from john.
Carter misses with a hook.

john forces Carter back against the cage and clinches.
Carter is looking to break free of the clinch but john has double underhooks.
john tries for a takedown but Carter manages to get underhooks.

john wants the takedown. Carter is fighting it off but john persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Carter's guard against the cage.
Carter wants to get back to his feet but john is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Carter looks gassed!
Carter wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and john manages to pass to side control.

Carter kicks john off and gets back to his feet.
Carter stuffs the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for dylan john. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Carter pulls out of a head kick attempt.

and john counters with a good low kick that Carter was not able to check.
