Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Cali Yaptangco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aleksandr Krinichnyi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yaptangco has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Aleksandr Krinichnyi!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Winston Howard and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Krinichnyi wants to clinch but Yaptangco slips to the side

and Yaptangco counters with a nice double leg into side control. Krinichnyi won't be happy with that.
Yaptangco looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Krinichnyi manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Krinichnyi is trying to control the action in half guard but Yaptangco is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Krinichnyi looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Krinichnyi gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Yaptangco gets tackled into the cage by Krinichnyi. Krinichnyi maintains the clinch.
Krinichnyi tries to pull guard but Yaptangco won't allow it.

Krinichnyi has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Yaptangco uses from the top position.

Krinichnyi tries to bum rush Yaptangco with a series of wild strikes but Yaptangco uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Krinichnyi throws a right and a left that both miss.

Krinichnyi throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Krinichnyi looks to land a combination. Yaptangco sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Krinichnyi throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Yaptangco.
Krinichnyi throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Yaptangco stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Krinichnyi misses with a series of wild punches.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
A punch lands to the side of Yaptangco 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Krinichnyi scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Krinichnyi stalks Yaptangco and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Yaptangco's face. Yaptangco staggers backwards, shaken.
Krinichnyi moves in looking to clinch but Yaptangco pushes him off.
Cali Yaptangco is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Krinichnyi wants to clinch.
Krinichnyi lunges at Yaptangco with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Yaptangco's hand.
The crowd cheers as Krinichnyi lands an impressive looking overhand right. Yaptangco doesn't seem phased though.
Krinichnyi is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Yaptangco rather than just go for the knockout.
Krinichnyi tries to clinch but Yaptangco is having none of it.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Yaptangco closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Krinichnyi stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Yaptangco avoids a punch combination nicely.
Krinichnyi tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Yaptangco paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Krinichnyi lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Aleksandr Krinichnyi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Krinichnyi scores with the left hand. Yaptangco knows he should have avoided that one.
Krinichnyi shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Yaptangco eats them both and turns towards Krinichnyi to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Krinichnyi closes the distance but Yaptangco moves to the side

and Yaptangco counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Yaptangco tries to pull guard but Krinichnyi holds him up against the cage and eventually Yaptangco drops back down to his feet.
Krinichnyi throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Yaptangcos head.
Krinichnyi throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Krinichnyi manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Yaptangco manages to get himself to full guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Krinichnyi connects with a single shot there.
Krinichnyi misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Krinichnyi scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Krinichnyi will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Yaptangco looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Krinichnyi lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Yaptangco circles away quickly and effectively.
Krinichnyi takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
The fight stays on the outside here - Krinichnyi looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Krinichnyi moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Yaptangco takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Krinichnyi scores with a nice head shot.
No joy there for Krinichnyi, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Krinichnyi wants to clinch but Yaptangco slips to the side

and Yaptangco counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Krinichnyi tries to kick Yaptangco off but Yaptangco keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Krinichnyi regains full guard. Nicely done.

Krinichnyi working for a triangle but Yaptangco defends it easily.

Krinichnyi escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Yaptangco gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Cali Yaptangco has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Aleksandr Krinichnyi has got the better of the ground game so far.

Krinichnyi looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Aleksandr Krinichnyi comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Krinichnyi has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
