PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gunnar Strom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Miguel Salazar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Strom kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is I Need a Hero. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Gunnar Strom!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Miguel Salazar!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Daniel Franklin and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Strom swings for the body but Salazar moves out of range.
Salazar lands a jab.
Salazar shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

That was a close round but I would say that Gunnar Strom will probably get the nod.

Strom thows a body shot but no joy.
Strom slips a jab from Salazar.
Salazar misses with a straight left.
Strom is looking to wear down Salazar with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Salazar lands with a good body shot.
Strom uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Salazar.

Strom throws a right hand that Salazar ducks under and follows up with a left that Salazar also avoids with ease.

Salazar gets control of Strom's arms and successfully pulls guard. Salazar will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Salazar working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Strom doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Strom manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Salazar looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Strom has picked Salazar up and slammed him! Salazar can't keep hold of the triangle and Strom manages to pass to side control!
