Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gregory Matice (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Reilly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Matice comes to the ring accompanied by It's a Fight. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Gregory Matice!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Sam Reilly!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Colin Fotheringham and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reilly gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Matice counters with a nice double leg into side control. Reilly won't be happy with that.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Matice creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Reilly is looking to reverse the position.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Reilly tries to bench press Matice off him but Matice keeps the position.
Matice landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Matice really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Matice creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Reilly manages to get back to half guard.
Reilly is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Matice is taking a breather. Reilly says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Matice landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Reilly actively working from the bottom here.

Reilly is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Matice pulls his head out easily.

Matice landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Matice is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Matice seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Reilly for as long as he can get away with.

Reilly looking for a kimura from the bottom but Matice passes into side control!
Matice just content to control the position.

Reilly is looking to get back to his feet here but Matice is keeping cool and he's managed to take Reilly's back.
Matice lands a shot to the body.
What can Reilly do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Reilly tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

Matice lands a big shot there that rocks Reilly but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Matice misses with a looping right.
Reilly fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Matice bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Matice is working Reilly over with some ground and pound from side control.

Matice is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Reilly's shoulder. That is not cool.
Matice wants to control but Reilly is keeping him busy.
Reilly is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Matice off and has taken his back!

Reilly working for the choke.
Matice tries to escape the position.
Reilly is not going to allow Matice to sit and survive in this position.

Reilly working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.
Reilly is breathing heavily.

Reilly is looking for a choke. Matice gets to his feet with his opponent on his back and slams him to the mat. Matice manages to squirm out of the attempted choke and turns into his opponent's guard.

Reilly working for a triangle but Matice defends it easily.
Gregory Matice overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Matice slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Matice won't allow Reilly to get back to his feet.

Matice engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Reilly escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Matice gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Matice postures up and lands a big shot to Reilly's brow.
Matice prevents Reilly from getting back to his feet.
Matice slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Reilly has his foot on Matice's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Matice works his way back into a safe position though.
Matice scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Reilly being controlled here, momentarily.
Matice content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Matice showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Matice has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Matice stands up over Reilly, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Reilly looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Matice has picked Reilly up and slammed him! Reilly can't keep hold of the triangle and Matice manages to pass to side control!
Matice prevents Reilly from escaping the position.
Matice slows the pace down.
Reilly gets back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gregory Matice dominated that second round.
That's time! Matice's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Matice lands with an overhand left.

Matice shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Reilly looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Matice is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Reilly trying to get back to full guard but Matice takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!
Reilly takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Reilly is looking to improve his position but Matice isn't that keen on the idea.
Matice tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Reilly sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Well, if Matice is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Matice lands strikes from half guard.

Reilly is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Matice pulls his head out easily.
Matice seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Matice is nestled in close to Reilly, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Matice keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

Matice lands with a punch from half guard.
Reilly wants to get back to full guard but Matice has passed into side control.
Reilly is looking to reverse the position.
Matice controls the position.
Reilly is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Reilly is trying to escape the position but Matice is controlling the position.
Reilly is trying to work for a sweep but Matice has mounted him!

Matice knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Reilly on the ground.

The referee warns Reilly that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Matice tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Reilly tries to reverse the position but Matice maintains control.
Sam Reilly has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Well Matice has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
