PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Warren Warshall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andy Turbo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Warren Warshall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Andy Turbo!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, James Ackerman and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Turbo tries to sprawl but Warshall drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Turbo tries to roll over but Warshall keeps him under control.
Warshall sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Turbo defending well though.
Warshall stops Turbo from getting back to his feet.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Warshall is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Turbo doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Warshall.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Turbo can do anything to dispel that myth.
Warshall tries to pass the half guard into mount. Turbo knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Turbo is concentrating on defense, preventing Warshall from advancing position.
Warshall thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Warshall wants to work for an arm triangle but Turbo is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Turbo kicks off Warshall and gets to his feet.

Turbo rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Warshall moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Turbo looks gassed!

Turbo shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Warshall manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Turbo prevents Warshall from getting back to his feet.
Warshall is pulling down on Turbo's head. It's preventing any offense from Turbo, at least for the moment.

Warshall bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Turbo's guard.

Warshall drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Warshall jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Warshall is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Turbo is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Warshall dives into side control.
Turbo wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Warshall will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Turbo avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Warshall.
Turbo is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Warshall is controlling him well.

Warshall thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Turbo throws a jab but it's blocked by Warshall.

Turbo decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Warshall is trying to maintain the position but Turbo is very close to passing his half guard.
Warshall is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Turbo is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Turbo wants to control but Warshall is keeping him busy.

Warshall has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

and Turbo counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Warshall!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Warshall takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Turbo has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Warshall's face.

Turbo postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Warshall looks a forlorn figure.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Warshall can't escape the position.
Warshall tries to lock up and control but Turbo gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Turbo breaks from Warshall's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Turbo cracks Warshall with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Warshall takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Turbo fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Turbo lands a big shot there that rocks Warshall but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Turbo postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Warshall badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Turbo around the waist but Turbo pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Turbo is the winner by TKO! Turbo jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Andy Turbo!
