Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jon Doe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Elliot Hopper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Doe comes to the cage accompanied by whatsername, and does she remember my name?. Jon Doe could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Elliot Hopper's chin.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Elliot Hopper!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Robert Twigg and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hopper throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Elliot Hopper seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hopper takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Hopper throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hopper misses with a right hand
and Doe counters with a leg kick.
Doe takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Hopper swings widly with a right hand
and Doe counters with a thumping low kick.
Hopper throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hopper throws a right hand that misses
and Doe counters with a nice low kick that buckles Hopper's knee momentarily.
Doe fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Doe tries to clinch there but Hopper circles away.
Hopper rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Doe counters with a takedown into side control.
Hopper is trying to escape the position but Doe is controlling the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Doe creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Hopper sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Jon Doe just wasn't active enough.
Hopper misses with a hook
and Doe counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Hopper rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Doe counters with an outside leg kick.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hopper misses with a hook
and Doe counters with a good low kick that Hopper was not able to check.
Hopper misses with a right hand

and Doe counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hopper won't be happy with that.
Hopper seems a little lost for a moment, as Doe dominates the positioning.
Doe throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Hopper struggling a bit here.

Hopper tries to bench press Doe off him but Doe keeps the position.
Doe throws a strike aimed at the side of Hopper's head but Hopper avoids it well.
The referee asks Doe politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Doe prefers to stall for the moment though.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jon Doe wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Hopper throws a lazy uppercut
and Doe counters with a body kick.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Doe throws a quick inside leg kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jon Doe dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Doe tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Hopper falls off balance throwing a combination
and Doe counters with a nice kick to the body.
Hopper throws a body punch but Doe moves out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hopper misses with an uppercut
and Doe counters with a thumping low kick.
Doe tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hopper sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Doe somewhat.

Hopper throws a combination that misses
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Hopper on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Hopper misses with a lunging right hand

and Doe counters with a nice double leg into guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hopper can do anything to dispel that myth.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jon Doe wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Hopper misses with a right hand
and Doe counters with an inside leg kick.
Hopper fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Doe manages to avoid it.
Hopper ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Doe moves away.
Hopper misses with a hook
and Doe counters with an inside leg kick.
Hopper throws a poor cross that misses
and Doe counters with an inside leg kick.

Hopper misses the shot to the body.
Doe lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Hopper throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Doe counters with a nice leg kick.
Jon Doe is winning the standup battle so far.

Doe misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Hopper.

Hopper misses with a left hand
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Hopper is breathing heavily.
Doe lands a leg kick that knocks Hopper off balance momentarily.
A good leg kick by Doe.
Hopper chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Doe can pounce on him.
Doe fakes the leg kick and cracks Hopper in the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jon Doe dominated that second round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Hopper displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Doe throws out the jab.
Hopper throws a body punch but Doe moves out of range.
Doe fakes the leg kick and cracks Hopper in the body.
That kick from Doe tenderised Hopper's leg. Hopper is trying to keep his angry face on.
Doe is looking to land body kicks.

Doe clinches.

Doe controlling the action here for a moment.
Hopper has had enough of the clinch but Doe keeps him there for the moment.
A frustrated look appears on Hopper's face as he tries to break the clinch.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Doe takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Doe keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Hopper's efforts to push away.
Doe lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.


It looks like Elliot Hopper has been cut.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Doe.
Hopper is leaning against Doe and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Doe's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Doe has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Hopper avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Doe here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Doe controlling the action here for a moment.
Hopper can't break the clinch.
Doe keeps control of Hopper as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Hopper's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Hopper wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Doe working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Elliot Hopper has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Hopper is looking to control Doe's arms but Doe gets an underhook and turns him. Now Hopper has his back to the cage.

Doe lands with a left to the head.

Doe turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Doe takes a little break here. Hopper wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Hopper is not content to let Doe control the position.
Jon Doe is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Doe is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Hopper will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jon Doe.
Hopper lands with an uppercut that bounces Doe off the cage and back into rage.
Hopper throws a sloppy body shot
and Doe counters with a good low kick that Hopper was not able to check.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jon Doe showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Doe has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
