The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lott misses with a head kick.

Lott shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Lott showed some decent athleticism there.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Still in half guard, Lott seems content to control.

Lott wants to work for an arm triangle but Grills is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
