Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jason Simpson!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Frank Dennis and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simpson fails with the takedown.
Nice takedown defense from Wegesin. No joy for Simpson on that attempt.
Jason Simpson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Simpson tries to bum rush Wegesin with a series of wild strikes but Wegesin uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Simpson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Wegesin goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Wegesin keeps the fight on the outside.
Nice sprawl there from Wegesin as Simpson shoots in.
DJ Wegesin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jason Simpson.
Wegesin changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Simpson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Wegesin advances to full mount.
Simpson is trying to escape the mount.
Wegesin is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Simpson is surviving well by controlling Wegesin's body position as best he can.
Wegesin wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it.
Wegesin looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Wegesin jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Simpson is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Simpson and Wegesin has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Wegesin scores with a couple of short elbows.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Simpson gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

Wegesin working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.

Wegesin is working for a guillotine from mount but Simpson frees his head quite easily.
Wegesin is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Simpson has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Simpson!
Simpson pushes down on Wegesin's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Wegesin has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Wegesin moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Simpson postures up.
Simpson is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Wegesin lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Simpson!
Wegesin is working for a guillotine from mount but Simpson frees his head quite easily.
Wegesin is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Simpson is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Simpson flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Wegesin anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Simpson and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Wegesin slips an arm under Simpson chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Wegesin has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Wegesin is squeezing on Simpson like an anaconda would it's prey. Simpson fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
