Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kano Kintaro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jamie Reynolds (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kano Kintaro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jamie Reynolds!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Donatello Bradman and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kintaro misses with a takedown
and Reynolds counters with a stiff right hand.
Reynolds lands a lovely overhand right.
Kintaro tries for a takedown but Reynolds circles away easily
and Reynolds counters with a good low kick that Kintaro was not able to check.
Kintaro scores with a three punch combo!
Kintaro looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Reynolds throws an overhand right that lands on Kintaro's shoulder, as Kintaro tries to avoid the shot.
Kintaro doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Reynolds counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Reynolds throws a series of punches but Kintaro avoids them all with ease.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Reynolds can do anything to dispel that myth.

Kintaro has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Reynolds's face.

Kintaro has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Kintaro is just content to waste time from the top position. Reynolds takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Reynolds wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Kintaro is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Reynolds defends it well.
Reynolds wants to improve his position but Kintaro is controlling well.

Kintaro jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Reynolds manages to avoid the submission attempt.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kintaro advances to mount.

Reynolds tries to lock up and control but Kintaro gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Kintaro jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Reynolds is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Reynolds and Kintaro has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kintaro decides to stand up, so the ref orders Reynolds to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

and Kintaro counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Reynolds's guard now.

Reynolds closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Kintaro's guard.
Kintaro not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Reynolds throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kintaro works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Reynolds looking to sit in guard and control but Kintaro gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Kintaro wants to pass the guard but Reynolds is keeping the position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
