And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Michael Rojas!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Franklyn Lucas and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice uppercut lands for Smith. That snapped Rojas's head back.


It looks like Michael Rojas has been cut.
Smith tries to clinch up

and Rojas counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Smith is looking to control Rojas's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Smith avoid being mounted?
Rojas seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Smith is looking to improve his position.
Rojas is controlling the pace.

Michael Rojas has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Rojas steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Smith. That one must have hurt.
Smith throws a head kick that half lands.
Johnny Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Smith throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Rojas closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Smith's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rojas is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Rojas advances position into side control!

Rojas stands up.
Smith looks to clinch

and Rojas counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Smith jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Rojas walks away with a smile on his face. Smith gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Smith moves to clinch but Rojas breaks away

and Rojas counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Smith!
Smith is breathing heavily.

Rojas forces the positional change into back control.
Rojas landing with strikes.
Rojas is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rojas lands a shot to the head.
Rojas controlling from the back.

Rojas gets his hooks in and is throwing strikes.
Can Smith hold on?! Rojas is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
Smith looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

Rojas working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Smith is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Rojas has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Smith taps out!
