Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bambooo Man!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dk Mon!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mon throws a combination that misses
and Man connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.


It looks like Dk Mon has been cut.
Mon misses with a double jab
and Man counters with a stiff right hand.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A shot to the body from Mon misses
and Man counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Man is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Mon misses with a telegraphed body shot

and Man counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Mon's guard now.
Man postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Man trying to control but Mon is working from the bottom.
Man makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Man trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Man has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Man thows a big elbow that misses.

Man tries to free his leg and advance position but Mon is retaining full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Man wants to control from the top but Mon keeps moving.
Man controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Man has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

We're going to have a standup here because Bambooo Man wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Man looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Man with a poor takedown
and Mon counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Man uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Mon.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Man fails with a takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bambooo Man dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Dk Mon's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

and Mon counters with a leg kick.
Mon swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Mon looks to land a left hand but Man moved out of range nicely.
Bambooo Man is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Mon throws a series of punches but Man avoids them all with ease.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mon misses with a left hand

and Man decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Mon's guard.
Man pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Mon is keeping the position for now.
Man trying to control the position from guard on top but Mon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Man passes Mon's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Man trying to mount his opponent but Mon defends it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mon is not content to let Man control the position.
Man missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Man looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Man not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Man trying to advance position but Mon counters by regaining guard.
Man is looking to work some ground and pound but Mon has wrist control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Mon keeping full guard, as Man tries to pass.
Mon keeping moving, preventing Man from controlling successfully.
Man stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mon swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Man is working hard here to advance position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Mon pulls Man in close to prevent any damage.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Mon is looking to stand up but Man isn't so interested in that idea.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Man shoots in and drives through. Mon sprawls well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Bambooo Man will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Dk Mon's cut.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Mon swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
enabling Man to counter with a crisp jab.
Mon fails to land with a series of punches.
Nice takedown defense from Mon. No joy for Man on that attempt.
Man with a lazy takedown attempt
and Mon counters with a one-two to the body.
Dk Mon is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mon swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Mon throws a right hand that Man ducks under and follows up with a left that Man also avoids with ease.
Man shoots in for a takedown but Mon shows good takedown defense.
Bambooo Man is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bambooo Man. That's going to take a lot out of him.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Man with a poor takedown
and Mon counters with a thumping low kick.
Mon misses with a combination
and Man counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Man fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Mon throws an off balance right hand

so Man counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Man sitting in guard here, content to control.
Mon is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Mon not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Bambooo Man just wasn't active enough.
Man throws a good cross that connects.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Mon misses with a jab to the body
and Man counters with a three punch combo that has Mon backing up. Mon nods at Man to acknowledge the strikes.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Dk Mon.
I think Man has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
