PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Peter Knapp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tim Howe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Knapp might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Chevelle - The Red. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knapp misses with a body kick.
Knapp will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Howe shoots for a double leg takedown but Knapp sprawls well. He's pushed Howe's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Knapp keeps the fight on the outside.

and Howe connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Howe takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Knapp tries to bum rush Howe with a series of wild strikes but Howe uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Howe shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Knapp manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Howe wants to pass the guard but Knapp is keeping the position.
Howe is looking to work some ground and pound but Knapp has wrist control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Peter Knapp.

Howe is pinned up against the ropes taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Howe is rocked!
Howe gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Knapp gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Howe is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
