Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Sean VonFoster!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Johanna Lukiainen and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarez misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Sean VonFoster seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Alvarez has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.


It looks like Paulo Alvarez has been cut.

Alvarez shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. VonFoster is trying to defend but Alvarez finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

VonFoster is controlling Alvarez's trapped leg to prevent Alvarez from advancing to side control.
Alvarez looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks VonFoster with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Alvarez looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
VonFoster makes his way to full guard. A much better position for VonFoster.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
VonFoster is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
VonFoster looks to land a strike but Alvarez avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

VonFoster won't allow Alvarez to sweep him here.

Alvarez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for VonFoster on the ground.

VonFoster gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

VonFoster throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Alvarez tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. VonFoster is in Alvarez's guard.

VonFoster is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Alvarez is looking to stand up but VonFoster isn't so interested in that idea.
VonFoster is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
VonFoster trying to control but Alvarez is working from the bottom.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Sean VonFoster hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Alvarez is trying to control the action in half guard but VonFoster is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Alvarez working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Alvarez lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
VonFoster is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Alvarez scores with a couple of nice shots.

Alvarez thows a huge punch but VonFoster dodges it nicely.
Alvarez stalling away here and it's allowed VonFoster to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Alvarez cracks VonFoster with a solid left hand.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

VonFoster is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Alvarez is aware though and is defending well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Alvarez closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Alvarez lands in his opponent's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Alvarez makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
VonFoster is still in real trouble! Can Alvarez finish him?
Alvarez cracks VonFoster with a solid left hand.
Alvarez scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Alvarez loads up on a big left hand. VonFoster felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Alvarez looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! VonFoster can't hide his disappointment, as Alvarez celebrates the victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Paulo Alvarez!
