PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Luimunaama Lare (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pertti Kiilopaa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lare comes to the cage accompanied by AC/DC - Hell's Bells. Kiilopaa has chosen Extreme Ways as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lare misses with a series of wild punches.

It looks like Pertti Kiilopaa has been cut.

and Lare counters with a nice body shot.
Kiilopaa shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Kiilopaa takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Lare scores with a sloppy right hand. Kiilopaa should have avoided that one.
Lare cracks Kiilopaa with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Kiilopaa takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

That has opened up Pertti Kiilopaa's cut even more.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Lare fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Kiilopaa to the ground. Lare is now in Kiilopaa's guard.

Lare stands and steps away. Kiilopaa gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Pertti Kiilopaa's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

Lare closes the distance and clinches.
Kiilopaa is trying to drag Lare to the mat but Lare just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Lare breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kiilopaa accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kiilopaa is on top in guard.

Kiilopaa shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Lare manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Lare's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Kiilopaa is persistently looking for the submission but Lare is defending it well.

Kiilopaa is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lare is trying to get back to his feet but Kiilopaa has full control of the position and if anything, Lare has just worked his way into a worse spot.
