The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garrido tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Del Toro swivels and escapes.
Fred Garrido seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Del Toro closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Garrido bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Garrido shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Del Toro but Del Toro pushes him off and we're back to square one.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fred Garrido. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Garrido is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Del Toro is controlling him.

Garrido is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Del Toro wants to get back to full guard but Garrido has passed into side control.

Garrido tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Garrido has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Del Toro is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Garrido is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Del Toro really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Garrido. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Garrido is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Del Toro!
