Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Lilja (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Matthews (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Matthews is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Drown in the Now. John Matthews is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Alexandre Firmino and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lilja changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Matthews tries to avoid it but Lilja manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Matthews to the ground. Matthews escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Lilja wants to clinch up but Matthews keeps it at a distance.
Lilja shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Matthews pinned against the cage. Matthews gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Lilja fails in his attempt to clinch.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lilja tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Lilja has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Lilja tries to close the distance and clinch but Matthews swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Lilja shoots in and bounces Matthews off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Lilja drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Lilja jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Lilja bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Matthews's guard.

Lilja is looking for a choke. Matthews gets to his feet with his opponent on his back and slams him to the mat. Matthews manages to squirm out of the attempted choke and turns into his opponent's guard.

Matthews is posturing up here but Lilja has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Matthews tries to roll out but it's too tight and Matthews has to tap! Slick submission there by Lilja!
