Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Robert Deby!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Vlad Vorchik!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Summer Carpenter and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vorchik shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Deby decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Vorchik's guard.
Deby decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Deby shoots and misses
and Vorchik counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Deby breaks the clinch.
Vorchik closes the distance looking to clinch
and Deby counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Deby is standing up over Vorchik. Vorchik looks to escape but Deby dives into side control.
Vorchik tries to buck Deby off but Deby is having none of it.
Deby wants to control but Vorchik is keeping him busy.
Deby in side control lands a decent elbow.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Deby has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Deby lands a nice shot to the head.
Vorchik really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Deby. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Deby breaks from Vorchik's wrist control and lands an elbow.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Deby cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Deby tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Deby trying to control but Vorchik is having none of it.
Vorchik is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Deby sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Deby lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Vorchik is in a horrible position here. Deby smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Deby controlling the pace for now.
Deby raining down hammerfists from mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Deby pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Deby lands a nice shot to the head.
Vorchik looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
Oooh a big shot gets through from Deby. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Deby is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Vorchik knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Vorchik for a finish.
A bit of a pause in the action here. Deby controlling the positon.

Deby has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Deby is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Vorchik won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Deby off his unconscious opponent!
