Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Couture (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wanderlei Silvsa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Couture dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Couture scores with a body shot.
Couture lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

It looks like Wanderlei Silvsa has been cut.
Silvsa on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Silvsa on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Couture. Couture obviously looking to wear him down.
Silvsa looks gassed!
Couture looks to land a combination. Silvsa sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Silvsa shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Couture pinned against the cage. Couture gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Couture has managed to clinch.

Couture gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Silvsa regains guard.
Couture slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Silvsa.

Couture is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Silvsa is just riding it out for now. Couture eventually gives up the hold.

Couture is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Silvsa sees it coming and defends easily.

Silvsa tries to roll over but Couture keeps him under control.
Silvsa wants to control but Couture is keeping busy.

Couture seems to be working for a kimura but Silvsa defends the submission attempt.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Couture is working for a kimura but Silvsa is defending it quite comfortably.

Couture swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Silvsa is now in Couture's guard. A big mistake from Couture there, giving up the dominant position!

Silvsa wants to control from the top but Couture keeps moving.
Couture looking to hit a scissor sweep but Silvsa is one step ahead there.
Silvsa stands and throws Couture's legs to the side, diving into side control.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Couture throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Couture rushes Silvsa and presses him up against the cage.

Couture ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Couture no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

and Couture counters with a straight right hand.
Couture dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Silvsa drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Silvsa shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Couture counters with a head kick. That will keep Silvsa thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Couture throws a series of strikes that have Silvsa backpedaling.
Couture stalks Silvsa and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Silvsa's face. Silvsa staggers backwards, shaken.
Silvsa tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Couture counters with a slapping leg kick.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Couture scores with a hook to the body. Silvsa takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Couture throws a head kick that Silvsa semi-blocks.
Couture moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

A left and a right from Couture both land. Nice combination.

Silvsa gets the takedown into side control.
Couture tries to bench press Silvsa off him but Silvsa keeps the position.
Couture manages to work his way to half guard, despite Silvsa's best efforts.
Couture moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Silvsa not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Couture wants to sweep but no luck.
Silvsa is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Couture is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Wanderlei Silvsa wasn't active enough on the ground.
Couture turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Couture throws a combination. Silvsa tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Couture shoots in looking for a takedown but Silvsa manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Couture's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Couture misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Couture dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Silvsa. That did some damage!

Silvsa blocks a head kick by Couture.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Couture enables Silvsa to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Couture manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Silvsa controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Couture is trying to keep Silvsa in close.
Silvsa trying to control but Couture is working from the bottom.
Couture is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Silvsa decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Couture, up you get!
Silvsa fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Silvsa stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Couture.
Couture shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Silvsa eats them both and turns towards Couture to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Couture darts in and clinches Silvsa up against the cage.

Couture lands with a nice combination. Silvsa backs away looking to recover.

Couture wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Couture gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Couture has hold of one of Silvsa's legs. Silvsa is fighting the takedown attempt but Couture gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Couture, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
