Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Darren Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenji Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith comes to the cage accompanied by ''Run This Town'' by Jay-Z feat. Kanye West and Rihanna. Darren Smith had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kenji Silva!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Wesley Smith and Alan Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith misses with a body punch
and Silva counters with a nice low kick that buckles Smith's knee momentarily.
A head kick by Smith misses
and Silva counters with a nice uppercut.
Silva misses with a leg kick

and Smith counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Silva!
Silva is working to get back to half guard.
Smith avoids the attempt from Silva to control.
Smith throwing strikes here but Silva is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Silva tries to hold on but Smith postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Smith in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.

Silva wants to control but Smith is having none of it.

Smith goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Silva is on top in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Smith is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Kenji Silva hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

and Silva counters with a body kick.
Smith throws a hook but Silva avoids it easily.

enabling Silva to counter with a crisp jab.
Kenji Silva is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Silva on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Smith. Smith obviously looking to wear him down.
Smith goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Silva slaps away a takedown attempt from Smith, before circling back to the center of the mat.

and Silva counters with a good, hard body kick but Smith shrugs it off.

Silva throws a chopping leg kick but Smith manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Darren Smith. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Silva counters with a head kick. That will keep Smith thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Silva pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Horrible takedown by Smith or perhaps it was just good defense by Silva which made him look bad.

Silva throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Smith.
Smith misses with a left hand
and Silva counters with an inside leg kick.

Smith thows a leg kick but Silva checks it
and Silva counters with a nice leg kick.
Smith shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Silva sprawls well. Silva wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Smith gets slowly back to his feet.

and Silva counters with a good low kick that Smith was not able to check.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

and Silva counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

enabling Silva to counter with a crisp jab.
Silva tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

and Silva makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Smith really felt that one!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Silva throws a leg kick which misses Smith's front leg but catches the back leg as Smith tries to avoid it.

Kenji Silva showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Silva drops Smith with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Smith! Silva dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
