Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fedor Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeremy Staton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Emelianenko comes into the arena with Twinkle Twinkle Little Star Re-Mix blaring out of the sound system. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jeremy Staton!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Anthony Taglia and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Staton throws a right hand that Emelianenko ducks under and follows up with a left that Emelianenko also avoids with ease.
Staton connects with a right hand. Emelianenko shakes it off.
Emelianenko throws a poor cross that misses
and Staton counters with a left and a right that stings Emelianenko.
Staton jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Staton loads up on a big right hand but Emelianenko slips the punch.
Emelianenko rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Staton counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

and Staton counters with a stiff right hand.
Nice body punch from Staton.

Staton throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Emelianenko was covering up waiting for the punch and Staton finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Staton is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Emelianenko seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Jeremy Staton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Staton throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Emelianenko sees it coming and avoids it easily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Staton lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Staton shoots in looking for a takedown but Emelianenko manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Staton's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Oooooh, big shot lands for Staton! Emelianenko is hurt baaadly! Staton is firing away with more strikes - Emelianenko is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
