Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Marco Noriega (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricardinho Gabriel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Marco Noriega!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ricardinho Gabriel!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Seu Braga and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gabriel shoots and misses

and Noriega counters with a single leg into guard. Gabriel didn't expect that.
Noriega is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Ricardinho Gabriel was stalling too much, according to the referee.

and Gabriel counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Noriega's guard now.
Gabriel wants to control from the top but Noriega keeps moving.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Noriega is looking for a sweep.

Gabriel decides to stand back up. Gabriel steps back and let's Noriega get back to his feet.
Noriega tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Gabriel was well out of range. Poor timing from Noriega.

Gabriel shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Noriega sprawls well. Noriega wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Gabriel gets slowly back to his feet.
Marco Noriega seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Noriega postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Marco Noriega will probably get the nod.
That's time! Noriega's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Gabriel misses with a takedown
and Noriega counters with a straight right hand.
Noriega with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Gabriel scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Noriega throws a lazy uppercut

and Gabriel counters with a single leg into guard. Noriega didn't expect that.
Gabriel stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Noriega swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Gabriel throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Noriega works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Gabriel decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Noriega, up you get!

and Gabriel counters with a three punch combo that has Noriega backing up. Noriega nods at Gabriel to acknowledge the strikes.

so Noriega counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Noriega is refusing to be controlled, as Gabriel sits in half guard.

Ricardinho Gabriel showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
