Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Stephen Koepfer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruce Parker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Koepfer comes to the cage accompanied by Mongol. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Stephen Koepfer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bruce Parker!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Franklyn Lucas and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Parker gets a clinch.

Koepfer is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Parker can't fight it off and eventually Koepfer manages to take the fight to the floor. Parker looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Parker looking to control.
Koepfer might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Koepfer is working Parker over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Parker working for a triangle but Koepfer defends it easily.

Koepfer gets to his feet. Parker looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Koepfer fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Parker, pushing him back against the cage.
Parker tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Koepfer avoids it.

Koepfer breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Koepfer lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Koepfer thows a huge punch but Parker dodges it nicely.
Parker is refusing to be controlled, as Koepfer sits in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Koepfer in particular looking to stall.

Parker drops down looking for an ankle pick but Koepfer pulls his leg out and moves away.

Koepfer closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Parker goes for a takedown in the clinch but Koepfer prevents it.
Parker pushes off an throws an elbow but Koepfer leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
With the fighters up against the cage, Parker throws an elbow but misses.

A short left from Koepfer.
Parker goes for a takedown attempt but Koepfer pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Stephen Koepfer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bruce Parker.
Parker slaps away a takedown attempt from Koepfer, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Parker fails to land with a series of punches.
Parker blocks a head kick by Koepfer.

Koepfer tries to score a body lock takedown but Parker shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Koepfer is trying to trip Parker. He has hold of a leg but Parker is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Koepfer persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Parker is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Parker has his foot on Koepfer's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Koepfer works his way back into a safe position though.

Parker throws a quick inside leg kick.

Koepfer throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Parker tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Koepfer is in Parker's guard.

Koepfer shoots for a double leg takedown but Parker sprawls well. He's pushed Koepfer's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Parker takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Koepfer turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Koepfer manages to end up in side control.

Koepfer tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Koepfer has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Parker is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Koepfer off and has taken his back!
Bruce Parker has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Stephen Koepfer is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Parker punches the canvas rather than the man.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Parker cracks Koepfer with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Koepfer from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.
Parker lands a shot to the body.
Parker misses with a punch to the head.

Well Koepfer has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
