Soares is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Highway To Hell. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bennett walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Soares checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Bennett throws a low kick but Soares moves out of range easily.
Steve Bennett seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Soares lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bennett circles away quickly and effectively.
Bennett fails in his attempt to clinch.

Bennett tries to close the distance and clinch but Soares swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

No joy there for Soares, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Bennett wants to clinch up but Soares keeps it at a distance.
