Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Curtis Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Wells (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones comes into the arena with Who Dat by Young Jeezy blaring out of the sound system. Chris Wells has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Curtis Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Chris Wells!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab from Jones.
Jones swings away with a body shot that misses
and Wells counters with a stiff right hand.
Wells uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Jones.
Jones pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Wells lands a jab to the nose.
Wells misses with a wild body shot.
Good leg kick by Wells there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Jones shoots for a double leg takedown but Wells sprawls well. He's pushed Jones's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Jones tries to clinch there but Wells circles away.
Jones uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Wells.
Wells dips to his left and cracks Jones with an uppercut!
Jones will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Wells works the jab nicely.
Chris Wells seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Jones looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Jones will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Wells trying to control here.

Wells is pressing down on Jones's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Jones throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Wells works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Wells lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Jones!
Wells throwing strikes but Jones recovers to half guard. A much better position.
Jones controlling the position well.
Wells is trying to control. Jones wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Wells throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Jones wants to improve his position but Wells is controlling well.
Wells frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Jones avoids a series of strikes thrown by Wells.

Wells wants to control the pace but Jones is squirming around nicely.
Wells avoids the attempt from Jones to control.
Jones is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Jones is trying desperately to improve position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Wells can't control as he wanted to and Jones manages to get the fight back to his half guard.
Wells lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Wells not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Wells slows the pace down in half guard.
Jones moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Wells is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Wells stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jones swivels though and keeps the full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Wells cracks the inside of Jones's front leg.
Jones shoots in for a takedown but Wells shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Jones shoots in but no luck this time.
A telegraphed right hand from Wells misses the target.
Wells misses with a wild body shot.
Jones misses with a few strikes there.
Jones takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Jones thows a body shot but no joy.
Jones on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Wells. Wells obviously looking to wear him down.
Jones tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Wells throws a lazy uppercut
and Jones counters with a right hand to the body.
Wells connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Jab from Wells.

Wells connects with a crisp jab.
Wells wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Wells throws a predictable looking body shot
and Jones counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Jones throws a poor cross that misses
and Wells counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Jones walks into a jab.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Wells lands a head shot.
Jones rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Wells counters with a nice uppercut.
Wells swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Jones misses the shot to the body.
Wells digs a good hook to Jones's body.
Wells pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Jones back to the cage. Wells follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

and Jones counters with a single leg into guard. Wells didn't expect that.

Wells kicks Jones off and gets to his feet.

Jones is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Wells.
Wells scores with a push kick.
Chris Wells seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Wells uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Wells lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Wells throws a leg kick which misses Jones's front leg but catches the back leg as Jones tries to avoid it.
Wells lands with a cross.
Wells thuds his shin into the meat of Jones's side.
Wells closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Wells lands a nice looking body shot.
Jones takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Left hook, right uppercut from Wells.
Jones closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Jones's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Wells connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Jones scrambles back to his feet.
Chris Wells is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Wells tries to land a front kick but Jones steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Wells slips a straight right by Jones.
Nice body punch from Wells.
Wells throws a sloppy body shot
and Jones counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Good leg kick by Wells there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Wells comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Wells scores with a jab. Jones acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Wells has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
A low kick from Jones is predictable there
and Wells counters with a left to the body.
Wells lands a head shot.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Wells thows a body shot but no joy.
Wells cracks a nice hook into Jones's ribs.

Jones takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Wells bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Jones's head.
A nice leg kick lands there from Wells.
Wells lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Jones circles away quickly and effectively.
Jones stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Wells.
Danga de danga de dang - Wells scores with a four punch combination!
Jones doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Jones takes one to the chin there.
Wells lands a head shot.
Jones's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Wells connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Jones scrambles back to his feet.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Wells thuds his right hand into Jones's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Wells fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Wells swings for the body but Jones moves out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chris Wells showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Wells lands with a right hand.
Jones looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Wells lands a jab to the head.
Nice straight punches there by Wells. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Wells.


Jones is rocked!
Wells drops Jones with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Jones! Wells dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:19 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Chris Wells!
