The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zorich misses with a takedown
and Staton counters with an inside leg kick.
Zorich shoots and misses
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Staton, as that shot connected.

It looks like Chris Zorich has been cut.
Zorich tries for a takedown but Staton sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Jeremy Staton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Zorich.
Staton throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Zorich on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Chris Zorich seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Staton throws a leg kick that misses.
Zorich misses with a few strikes there.

Staton lands with an overhand left.
Staton jabs Zorich to the body, keeping him at a distance.

Staton dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Zorich. That did some damage!
Staton clobbers Zorich with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Zorich takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Staton feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Zorich sprawling to the canvas! Zorich rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Staton finish him?!

Zorich is rocked!

That has opened up Chris Zorich's cut even more.

Staton lands with a nice body punch.

Staton lands a big right hand that sends Zorich crashing to the mat! Staton stays standing though and waves Zorich back to his feet!
Zorich is still on wobbly legs! Can Staton finish him?
Staton sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Zorich's defenses. It connects perfectly with Zorich's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!
