The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Munoz slaps away a takedown attempt from Patterson, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Patterson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Patterson wants to pass to mount but Munoz is defending the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Munoz is pushing Patterson's head away, looking to escape. Patterson manages to hold on to the position though.

Patterson jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Munoz is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Munoz and Patterson has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Patterson is looking to take a break and control but Munoz is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Munoz is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

That was a close round but I would say that Henry Patterson will probably get the nod.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Patterson lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Munoz has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Munoz and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
