The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Simpson looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for charles!
charles can't escape the position.

Simpson has control of charles's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and charles regains control of the situation pretty easily.
charles is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Simpson working for a guillotine from mount but charles is in no mood to give up.
charles has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.

Simpson is trying to stick to charles's back but charles is turning into Simpson. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Simpson's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by charles.
charles wants to pass the guard but Simpson is keeping the position.
charles forces his way into half guard.
Simpson wants to get back to full guard.
Simpson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for charles on the ground.

charles is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
charles wants to advance to full mount but Simpson doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

charles wants to pass the guard but Simpson is keeping the position.
charles passes Simpson's left leg - he's now in half guard.

charles is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Simpson is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
