PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jp Flaim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Mott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Alexandre Firmino and Daniel Cesar.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Flaim as Mott shoots in.
Flaim misses with an uppercut
and Mott counters with a three punch combo that has Flaim backing up. Flaim nods at Mott to acknowledge the strikes.
Flaim throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Mott fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Mott feints and then cracks Flaim's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Flaim down.
Jp Flaim seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Flaim misses with a lunging right hand

and Mott counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Flaim wants to control but Mott is keeping busy.
Mott throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Flaim wants to get back to his feet.
Flaim blocking the ground and pound attempt from Mott.
Mott stalling away here and it's allowed Flaim to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Mott is looking to stand up but Flaim won't let him.

Mott throws a strike but Flaim rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Mott is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Mott controls Flaim momentarily but Flaim frees himself.

Flaim drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Flaim jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Mott had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Flaim defends it easily.

Flaim drops back looking for a leg! Mott is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Mott manages to kick Flaim off! Flaim jumps back into Mott's guard.

Flaim drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Mott manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Flaim has Mott in his guard.
Mott in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Mott thows a big elbow that misses.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mott accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Mott has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Mott wants to pass the guard but Flaim is keeping the position.

Mott throws and elbow that misses. Flaim uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Mott's guard. Nice move by Flaim!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Flaim drops back looking for a leg! Mott is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Mott manages to kick Flaim off! Flaim jumps back into Mott's guard.

Mott is looking to sinch up a triangle. Flaim throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Mott's body to avoid the submission. Mott has instead reached around Flaim's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Mott arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
