Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Steven Angero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Heller Reese (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Heller Reese looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Steven Angero!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Heller Reese!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reese tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Angero counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Reese is looking to escape.
Angero tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Reese.
Angero stalling away here and it's allowed Reese to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Angero really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Angero would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Angero decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Reese shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Angero's guard.
Angero will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Reese is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Angero is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Angero has escaped and now he's on top!

Reese wants to get back to his feet but Angero is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Reese looking for a sweep. Not yet Reese, not yet.
Reese looks gassed!
Angero wants to pass the guard but Reese is keeping the position.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Angero is stalling in the full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Steven Angero wasn't doing enough on the ground.
No luck for Angero with that takedown attempt.

Angero moves into range and clinches up with Reese.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Angero successfully pulls guard.

Angero is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Reese wants to pass the guard but Angero is keeping the position.
Angero wants to stand up but Reese is controlling him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Reese tries to keep at a distance but Angero has taken the fight into the clinch.
Reese is trying to force a seperation but Angero has the dominant position.
Angero throws a knee to the head but misses.

Angero breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Angero has closed the distance and engaged Reese in a clinch.
Angero goes for a takedown attempt but Reese pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Angero tries a head kick but it misses.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Reese lets loose with a powerful body kick. Angero will feel that in the morning.

Angero closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Reese to the mat! Reese manages to get full guard.
Reese wants to sweep here but Angero controlling him for the moment.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Reese seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Reese trying to control the position from guard on top but Angero is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Angero looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Angero looking for a guillotine here but Reese defends easily.

Reese won't allow Angero to get back to his feet.
Reese wanted to stand there but Angero had control of the position.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Angero is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Reese defends well.
Angero is trying to keep Reese in close.
Angero throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Steven Angero dominated that second round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!



Reese looking to score a takedown here. Angero is defending well but Reese drives through and ends up in Angero's guard.

Angero working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Reese doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Reese manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Angero throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Reese escapes and throws Angero's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Angero is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Angero is working hard here to advance position.

Reese tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Reese has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Reese takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Reese wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Angero, who protects the arm well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
You can see the frustration on Angero's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Reese swings around for an armbar but Angero sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Reese's guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Angero trying to control the position from guard on top but Reese is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Angero trying to stand up but can't free himself from Reese's guard.

Angero gets to his feet - Reese follows without any prompting.
Angero fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Reese tries to clinch
and Angero counters with a big head kick but Reese shrugs it off.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Reese misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Angero closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Reese did well to prevent Angero getting side control.
Angero is trying to control the action in half guard but Reese is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Angero trying to mount his opponent but Reese defends it.
Reese looks like he's trying to stand up.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Steven Angero.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Angero, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
