The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saz tries for a takedown but De Paula circles away easily
and De Paula counters with a left to the body.

De Paula feints and as Saz raises his hands in defense, De Paula changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Saz is looking to sweep but instead, De Paula has passed into half guard.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Henry De Paula wasn't active enough on the ground.
Saz throws a lazy uppercut
and De Paula counters with a stiff right hand.

De Paula drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
De Paula is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
