PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Richard Alipio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bob Soza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Soza is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Sponge Bob Theme Song. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Richard Alipio!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bob Soza!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Skip Squint and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Soza throws a leg kick but Alipio sees it coming and checks it nicely.

Alipio shoots in looking for a takedown. Soza tries to sprawl out of it but Alipio keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Soza manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Alipio takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bob Soza comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
